Talk, Talk, Talk

Well its been awhile but the PNW is doing good! The work is moving along pretty good we just got a new Mission President and he is so cool! He has  a high love and high expectations which is just absolutely amazing. He is pretty chill, there are some rules that the last mission President made, that the new President got rid of pretty quick. Like for example, We weren't allowed to wear floral ties, but the new President thought it was weird and got rid of it! So nice.
Lately we've been running into a lot of old single people and man they can talk your ear off, like one lady named Judy we teach, and she was in the military back in the day and her whole life was in the military, her husband died back in Vietnam (war). She is a funny lady but man she can talk. It's like when you're trying to leave church and your parents start talking!  We also are teaching a guy named Paul. Not Paul from the bible, he is also in the same boat as Judy, He is 81, and his wife passed away about a year ago. Whoa, ain't never talked that much, I would bet car sales men talk less then this man, but he is super kind and funny, so it all evens itself out in the end.
Other then that life is good it's been hotter then usual here (according to the natives) and it kinds sucks. I mean I go out side and walk 10 feet and I'm K.O. but it's all good when you are bringing salvation of man! Other then that I hope all yall's have a good week and until next time.

Rain Rain Go Away

Well it's been a week or 2 since the last time i sat down and wrote a very well constructed letter. And if you know me and my spelling this is going to take as long UDOT, to finish this bad boy🚸
So this past couple weeks have been pretty good except one thing the rainπŸ‘ŽπŸΌI tell ya what; idk why people live here all it does is rain🌧 rain🌧 rain⛈ rain🌦rain🌨 rain🌧 if it keeps raining we might have to do a sequel to Noah's ark🌊 let me tell you what the primary song, The rains came down and the floods came up that's some serious stuff🏊‍♂️ okay funny story about the rain, so I'm privileged enough to have a bike in my area so one day we leave the house to some clouds nothing to big so I go without a rain jacket. get what I'm saying. So then we bike to our area and start knockin doorsπŸšͺthen bout half way threw this session we get blind sided like the titanic, by rain no joke! So me and my company you know we are just trying to find shelter so we keep knocking doors to find someone to take 2 good looking young men in for a minute, but I mean people aren't nice sometime we struck out at ever single door😭 I felt like a turtle on it's back, stranded. And about 10 minutes in we are just huddled under this person's stoop. And by this point it look like I got into a fight with Poseidon🧜‍♂️ and since I wasn't expecting the great storm of 2019 I didn't have my rain jacket. So pitcher, this an attractive young man (me) DRENCHED by water with a thin WHITE shirt and a thin WHITE garment top on😳 so you could just pitcher thatπŸ˜‚ bad new bears.
Okay on to a more spiritual note, so these past couple weeks we have had some money contacts, people are opening up their hearts these days. So we ran into this little Mexican dude named Vlad and he is so awesome, he loved what we told him so we invited him to church and he came. But since hes awesome he brought his girlfriend! And they really enjoyed it said they would come back! So that is money and we have a couple other people like that. So the work is going dang good.
Also talking about running into a lot of nice people we still get those occasional missionaryπŸ‘Œ haters! And they are super mean lately but my companion is very very very wel script in the bible and he just roasts people like a oven! And he is so good he knows the bible better them the Pope himself, so when we run into a mean basher he just tears into them with the bible (humbly of course) but hes definitely give me some good knowledge!
Well other then that I'm doing good just living each day to the max! It is not the years in your life but the life in your years that counts.9
Well everyone live worthily, happy, and honorable. Love yalls and talk to you again.

Week 37 (Really week 29)

Another day, Another dollar ladies and gentlemen! Well this was a good week except (there is always an exception) The weather this week was super dark and gloomy, like English class😭 But I mean the Pacific NORTHWEST doesn't get as green as it is if i doesn't rain🌧 But attitude is everything folks! I just look at it like a blessing because it keeps the weather cooler and with all my fat and all the biking I do, I sweat like at least 1.32 gallons, and when I get to people's houses they don't know if it is sweat or rain that I'm drenched in,😜 but sometimes I forget to grab a water bottle and oh my it's the worst!!!! On the other hand, I have never felt closer to my beloved Father in Heaven once I get up some of these hills without drinking waterπŸ₯€ okay let me tell ya about what I call the hill to h*ll,  Picture this, so this devil hill is on the border of our area,  so when we're  at the bottom of this hill looking up we can't see the top because it pierces above the clouds⛰ no joke! And the first time I looked up this beast I had a tear go down my face πŸ˜₯ I swear I heard a voice say "Good Luck Elder" and you think I'm joking, but I'm serious bro! And the slope of this hill is at least at least 75 degree angle, no lie! So my Companion and I say a quick prayer and start our journey up it, While biking up it, we hop of our bikes and walk our bikes up it. And what feels like 40 years in the wilderness (sound familiar?) Me and my comp peer the top of this death trap, and it's like those movies when people have been lost for awhile and they finally make it to civilization, and they start crying and they hug each other and its a super sweet moment and it makes the movie theater cry😒 and when cars get to the top of the hill they are sweating also! Like those old cartoons when the car is exhausted and it dies! I'm assuming this hill is the inspiration for that cartoon! And believe me when I say this, My description doesn't do this hill justice; this is a under exaggerated of this hill! And the worst part is our main progressing friend lives at the top of this thing, so of course we make our journey up this thing at least 2-3 times a week! Needless to say my physical endurance is becoming betterπŸ’ͺ🏽
Other then that there are miracles all around (its a miracle  that I lived to tell the tail of that hill) but okay one more quick story, So we went to our friend that lives at the top of Mt. Everest on Wednesday and she was having a terrible terrible day and our plan was to talk about The Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we were promoted to just talk and show our support and love for her, So we did just that, We just listened and spoke to her and told her that we are always there for her, B we reminded her that there is  someone who can help a heck of a lot more, and who will always be there for her and that is Our Savior Jesus Christ and no matter  the pain he can deliver you out of anything and that he has done this for me and for every single person I know and that he can help you! And she found comfort through this. Like we all have. And then she told us that we carry a special spirit with us and that we always lighten up her day, but in reality it is just the Light of Christ that helps her and we our just people and don't do anything.  The light of Christ that we carry is the one that is the light at the end of the tunnel!
Well I know Jesus is my Savior, and that the church is true, book is blue, and I love all yall's!  Until next time❤

Joys of a foreign comp!

Well its been a couple weeks so I thought I would write a nice little email about the greater Seattle area! Well nothing to much has been happening in our area, our transfers were yesterday, Yang and I are still together for 1 more transfer. He is a funny kid,  English is his 3rd language and he's not from America so you u could guess that he has a lot of questions😊 like I'll say something like "get outta dodge" and you always know when they don't understand cause they will repeat it back to you with a confused look on their face, and their tone of voice is confused also. I find myself explaining  what "get outta dodge" means and sometimes I have to explain my explanationπŸ˜‚ and it just becomes all sorts of confusing for them and at the end of the day he doesn't understand what I  meantπŸ˜‚ and other times he'll ask me how to spell a word,  and I  realize that I don't know how to spell the word, then I go to  my phone and spell it, and hope auto correct gets it right! So in essence O become a walking Dictionary, Thesaurus, and an English major, The joys of having a foreign companion! Then also up here there are  a lot and I  mean a lot of Asians. They work for Boeing, Microsoft or Amazon, and some days we run into more Chinese then Americans which is super nice. And  since I don't speak Chinese and Yang does, he takes over and I can just sit back and relax as he talks to them! Which some days is the best!
Other then that I love the Lord and my mission Seattle is a grand Ole place and until next time.

I got my first Baptism!

Well it was a pretty good week this week if i do say so myself! So it was a pretty rainy week out here in the Pacific NORTHWEST🌧 but it was still a really good week! Luckily for us we had a meeting at the church when it was a complete downpour and a member drove us #minimiracle
But its fun being on a bike (well it wasπŸ˜‰) i like it our here.
Okay time for the big news... i got my first baptism🌊hip hip hurrah🍾  his name is Tyler Li and he is from Shanghai, China he is in his 20's and going to college, His English it decentπŸ˜‚ hopefully he knows what happened, haha, I know he does don't worry! But ya, he is awesome I taught him my first 3 transfers with my Ukrainian trainer and my last comp, so I was able to see them at the baptism, and it was good to see some old friends.😊 But my last comp was the one the baptized him and I was just so happy he got baptized, He loves Christ and he says because of him he is passing more tests in shcool.πŸ˜‚ It's probably true though! But it was so good Mt new Companion  is from Taiwan and somehow he knows the branch president in Shanghai and gave it to Tyler for when he goes homeπŸ˜‚ I guess all Asians know each other! But it was the best day ever! And I was able to get outta the rain! So double win! But it was a good week!
And now in this area i am teaching a lady from Brazil, She is on date to be fully submerged in water by someone holding proper priesthood authority and I'm excited for her! Its a good day to be alive, and also they gave my area a car so no mo biking, kinda sad but I'm not! Thanks and love ya'll

Exhaust and Miracle Monday

Another one!
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! This is Elder Kenfield, and I'm back! Well its been a couple weeks since I've emailed and I'm assuming you all have been saddened by this😫 But i'm back like 80's fashion.
Okay so just to let all yalls know I was transferred! So I got transferred into and area with a companion from Taiwan! I know I  keep getting these foreigners, and they keep getting me, Lucky them! So I'm now in a town called Renton,  it is a nice little town surrounded by some of thE most expensive areas in Washington. Most of these homes are like 3500 sq ft and cost around 700,000- 1 dollar billsπŸ€‘ And they aren't even brand new they are typical older. But their are also a lot of brand new,  really nice homes that I couldn't imagine how much they costπŸ˜– good thing there is Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon and Nintendo keeping everyone employed over here.
Okay story time, so I was on exchanges with another missionary Elder Foster, so we bike up to this house where an inactive member lives, and so we lock up our bikes on a telephone pole across the street (not a honest place) and we  walk up to this door and we see that his truck exhaust tip is shaped like the Chevy logo, and this kid loves Chevy's so he is just super happy and looks at it for a minute, then we go walking up the side walk to the door then this 5'5 skeleton walks around the corner of the house and is like "What are you guys doing?"πŸ˜‘ so we say "Building a spacecraft" What does it look like we are doing? Just kidding we didn't say that. So we tell him we are looking for Michael and he says "are you guys Mormons?" No! I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints, thank you very much. And then skeleton man says "Michael he aint here" so we ask when he will be,  and he says I prefer not to answer or something stupid like that so we say "Have a good day," bye✌ then we walk to our bikes unlock them, and look up who we are going to visit next.
And then I turn around and skeletal man is walking back towards us☺ and he walks up and says "There is surveillance all around this house and we saw you guys looking in and around my truck and at the license plates, blah blah blah, so  I will ask for you not to come back, and I got your guys photos so ya" )want me to sign that photo for you sir?) So we are like okay what ever, thanks, you should join the secret service because of your surveillance skills. Then this child of God walks away. Then my companion and I just start cracking up, Like did you really go inside and look at us walk up and start taking screenshots of us, while snacking on some potato chips? I thought it was funny! So moral of this story, sometimes as missionaries you realize some children of God have nothing better to do then catch Mormons in the act of looking at their exhaustπŸ˜‚ But also he will come around one day and he's probably a good guy but maybe just some ex military surveillance guy.
But also Miracle Monday I will get my first baptism on Saturday the 13! and baptizing a young man from China I'm so excited!! I love being a missionary.
Well love yalls and Until we meet again🀘
