I got my first Baptism!

Well it was a pretty good week this week if i do say so myself! So it was a pretty rainy week out here in the Pacific NORTHWEST but it was still a really good week! Luckily for us we had a meeting at the church when it was a complete downpour and a member drove us #minimiracle

But its fun being on a bike (well it was) i like it our here.

Okay time for the big news... i got my first baptismhip hip hurrah  his name is Tyler Li and he is from Shanghai, China he is in his 20's and going to college, His English it decent hopefully he knows what happened, haha, I know he does don't worry! But ya, he is awesome I taught him my first 3 transfers with my Ukrainian trainer and my last comp, so I was able to see them at the baptism, and it was good to see some old friends. But my last comp was the one the baptized him and I was just so happy he got baptized, He loves Christ and he says because of him he is passing more tests in shcool. It's probably true though! But it was so good Mt new Companion  is from Taiwan and somehow he knows the branch president in Shanghai and gave it to Tyler for when he goes home I guess all Asians know each other! But it was the best day ever! And I was able to get outta the rain! So double win! But it was a good week!

And now in this area i am teaching a lady from Brazil, She is on date to be fully submerged in water by someone holding proper priesthood authority and I'm excited for her! Its a good day to be alive, and also they gave my area a car so no mo biking, kinda sad but I'm not! Thanks and love ya'll

Exhaust and Miracle Monday

Another one!
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! This is Elder Kenfield, and I'm back! Well its been a couple weeks since I've emailed and I'm assuming you all have been saddened by this But i'm back like 80's fashion. 
     Okay so just to let all yalls know I was transferred! So I got transferred into and area with a companion from Taiwan! I know I  keep getting these foreigners, and they keep getting me, Lucky them! So I'm now in a town called Renton,  it is a nice little town surrounded by some of thE most expensive areas in Washington. Most of these homes are like 3500 sq ft and cost around 700,000- 1 dollar bills And they aren't even brand new they are typical older. But their are also a lot of brand new,  really nice homes that I couldn't imagine how much they cost good thing there is Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon and Nintendo keeping everyone employed over here.
     Okay story time, so I was on exchanges with another missionary Elder Foster, so we bike up to this house where an inactive member lives, and so we lock up our bikes on a telephone pole across the street (not a honest place) and we  walk up to this door and we see that his truck exhaust tip is shaped like the Chevy logo, and this kid loves Chevy's so he is just super happy and looks at it for a minute, then we go walking up the side walk to the door then this 5'5 skeleton walks around the corner of the house and is like "What are you guys doing?" so we say "Building a spacecraft" What does it look like we are doing? Just kidding we didn't say that. So we tell him we are looking for Michael and he says "are you guys Mormons?" No! I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints, thank you very much. And then skeleton man says "Michael he aint here" so we ask when he will be,  and he says I prefer not to answer or something stupid like that so we say "Have a good day," bye then we walk to our bikes unlock them, and look up who we are going to visit next. 
     And then I turn around and skeletal man is walking back towards us and he walks up and says "There is surveillance all around this house and we saw you guys looking in and around my truck and at the license plates, blah blah blah, so  I will ask for you not to come back, and I got your guys photos so ya" )want me to sign that photo for you sir?) So we are like okay what ever, thanks, you should join the secret service because of your surveillance skills. Then this child of God walks away. Then my companion and I just start cracking up, Like did you really go inside and look at us walk up and start taking screenshots of us, while snacking on some potato chips? I thought it was funny! So moral of this story, sometimes as missionaries you realize some children of God have nothing better to do then catch Mormons in the act of looking at their exhaust But also he will come around one day and he's probably a good guy but maybe just some ex military surveillance guy. 
     But also Miracle Monday I will get my first baptism on Saturday the 13! and baptizing a young man from China I'm so excited!! I love being a missionary.

Week 12- Friends and Hiking

Week 12 in the clink! It was a very good week this week, Me and Kochev found 12 new friends (investigators) they are friends because people thought it was weird they where called investigators, Well I see you as a child of God, no labels but this week was super good other then the weather, it rained all week except Monday On Wednesday we got poured on while we where knocking doors but we were so grateful we ain't on bikes and we have a cute little, white Toyota Corolla named Rocky. But the rain is good we had a General authority Elder Kearon Vvisit, and he said and I quote "choose to love the rain" I dont like rain, I ain't a tree but I have tried it out, I don't love the rain but it's not that bad. Also we met an Excommunicated dude who is super willing to come back to church and everything, so pray for him. But other then that it was good week. Also some dude guilt tripped me with the bible to give him some money, and ever since little Scotty Elder Kenfield was just a young lad he was taught to say no, but this dude was good. If he went on a mission he would have to sleep in his baptismal clothes for turning his mission into the waters of Mormon he was good! I should have given him a book of Mormon instead I missed my shot But I'll get them next time! Also some dude wouldn't take a pass along card cause the Jesus has lighter skin tone, he told us Jesus ain't white, he ain't never going to be white, and I ain't white (he was on the darker skin tone) but then we handed him a Book of Mormon pass along card and he took it, I was waiting for him to say the book ain't blue but he didn't. But my look on this is Jesus is also the son of God and we don't know what God looks like, so it doesn't matter what they looked like back 2000 years ago cause Jesus is also the son of God. Dang I'm good OJ should of hired me, also I read a verse that changed my life; it is Jacob 6:12, It's why I'm so wise and smart now No I'm still not . But the church is true the book is blue and the trinity ain't true. Love ya'll and Until next time.

2019

Well its 2019 Elders and Sisters! I feel the same as I did yesterday It hasn't been a half bad week here in Seattle, Well 2018 was so last year, so new year, new me! And also I come home next year "it's a great day to be alive the sun still shining when I close my eyes" Haha jk the sun doesn't shine in Seattle but it did run into a little beam of sunlight, we saw this lady walking so we're like let's talk to this lady so we stop her and we are talking about the Light the World that the church did this Christmas season, and then she blindsided us like a fat kid with a twinkie, she told us "I read the Book of Mormon everyday and I love it," WAIT WHAT!! I almost fell over, most of our members don't even do this. I was shocked! Then we talked to her more and apparently her husband is a navy seal and a member but she isn't and shes also from O Canada, so we talked for a fat minute and she loves "Mormons" she said "Mormons have the best work ethic." "Mormons are a family and you don't want to mess with them" "Mormons and so great" this lady loves Mormons and I mean like ya, we are great I'm great but it's because I have the true gospel in my life, hallelujah amen but this lady loves "Mormons" it made us laugh than she asked if the Mormons and Masons were in a war? Sorry ma'am Salt Lake doesn't let us disclose that information. But we just looked at her and chuckled about it. This lady was so nice I guess the Canadian stereotype is true they are nice people, then we left her with a prayer and she had us touch elbows and it was fun, I felt like a Baptist. But Canadian people truly are the nicest people, except the occasional (everyday) high person that is just chill and very willing to except the gospel until they sober up. But Canadians are always nice. But it was a good week it's been a good year so far, I love Jesus Christ, I love missionary work and I love Seattle.

Christmas Cookies

I'm late posting this email, Scott sent it on the 10th Enjoy! 😋

Well it's been a good week, the sun came out and stayed out!! I have never been so happy proclaiming the gospel! Until yesterday I woke up and it was raining... ya who would have guessed. But all i can do is pray that it changes. With the power of my missionary power It will be sunny until I leave in 23 months. No but with this beautiful weather we set up a cute little booth we had free Christmas cookies, a sign, a tree, and a survey with 4 questions and the last one asked to put your number, so we could get their contact info us tricky missionaries and we set up at a weird liberal college called Green River, it has a more asians then China town it's insane. And they also have a lot of weirdos like any college would, but this is Washington so that all I need to say. Okay the highlights! Some dude walks up and asks why we don't keep the 3rd commandment? Keep the Sabbath Holy, cause he was part of a weird 7th day religion crap, so I just looked at this dude and laughed, then my companion started bashing with him, it was so fun, I love people. Then he pulled out his bible and said I'll prove to you that the sabbath is Saturday. Then i responded with do you think God cares what day we do it or that we do it? Then the weirdo walked away then we bashed with a Korean pastor. Couldn't understand anything but it was fun. Next up, a vegan. Ya that's all i need to say about that guy, but the best! then this dude walked up to me and started going on about Christmas and stuff then he says "you know Santa used to be real, he was a man full of jolly and presents?" Uhh ya when I was 5 I believed this. This dude was convinced Santa was real and people hunted him down and killed him Haha what!! Then explain how I get gifts on Christmas I love college kids. 
I committed an Asian named Tyler to be baptized!! But he isn't good at English and I don't think he understands what he got into. But fill up the fount baptize him and put it in the books!! Find, teach, BAPTIZE! numbers, numbers, numbers. That's all that matters but we might hand him over to some Chinese elders that can help him more then we can, sadly. But Seattle is lit.
